Energy Independence Through a Mix of Technologies and Alternative Fuels
Solar PV + BESS 240 MWp Saldanha Bay
iKapa has secured a land lease option option for 30 years on 330 hectares in Saldanha Bay to develop, build and operate a 240 MWp solar photovoltaic plant and battery energy storage system (“BESS”). COD is expected in 2026.
Solar PV + BESS 2 GWp Little Karoo
iKapa has negotiated a land lease option option for 30 years on 11,000 hectares in Little Karoo to develop, build and operate a 2 GWp solar photovoltaic plant and battery energy storage system (“BESS”). The project will also include a landing strip for small to medium aircraft, desalination plant and employee housing. COD is expected in 2030.
CCGT 800 MWp Mpumalanga
iKapa is negotiating a land lease option in the province of Mpumalanga to develop, build and operate an 800 MWp Combined Cycle Gas Turbine power plant to sell electricity through the grid and to include the project in the South African Eskom Gas to Power program. COD is expected in 2029.
Desalination 80 MLD
Cape Town
iKapa in a consortium with South African and Italian partners were awarded Preferred Bidders in the Cape Town City Council RFP 99S/2017/18 for desalinated water in 2017. Unfortunately the program was cancelled immediately after due to the heavy rainfall that replenished the City’s water reserves.
Eskom RFP MWP1237 GX-R Western Province
iKapa in an international consortium are participating in the Eskom RFP for the supply, storage, delivery and offloading/transport of LNG to Ankerlig and Gourikwa Power Stations resulting in the replacement of more expensive carbon-emitting Diesel with less expensive and cleaner Natural Gas.
Quantum Energy
Cape Town
iKapa signed an agreement with an international Asian company which has granted the use of its' patented core technology with which to co-develop new system intellectual patent for a quantum energy reactor in South Africa that should be ready for commercial development during 2028.
