iKapa Energy seeks to contribute to the desired outcomes of the South African Government’s National Development Plan (NDP), Integrated Energy Plan (IEP) and other government programmes to stimulate socio-economic development through security of energy supply by designing, developing and participating in projects with financial, construction, operations and maintenance partners to collectively deliver and monetize the following types of projects:

• Natural Gas (Baseload, Mid-merit and Peaking):

  • Gas-powered open cycle gas turbine (OCGT)

  • Gas-powered combined cycle gas turbine (CCGT)

  • Gas-powered reciprocating engines / generator sets (GenSets)

  • Gas sourcing, transporting, storing, processing, and supply, with a particular focus on gas as a primary energy resource for power generation, industrial process heat, transport, and communities (GaSS).

• Renewable Energy:

  • Solar photovoltaic

  • Biomass

  • Waste to Energy ("W2E")

  • Nuclear

  • Battery Energy Storage Systems ("BESS")

  • Hydrogen ("H2")

• Security of Energy Supply:

  • We are actively developing projects to contribute our solutions to deal with the challenges of the present and future electricity supply constraints by introducing new utility-scale electricity generation as close to end-users as possible, including off-grid energy solutions.
